Raxxla is being held as major end-game reveal awaiting Space Legs, atmospheric planets, and other future features. Discovery could function as a gateway to new galaxies or mega-structures, potentially sparking a new 10-year development cycle similar to Elite 1's multi-galaxy structure.

Ok. Nebulae are good places to hide anything. But not better than any other place in THIS game. That's what I tried to say. Everybody explores nebulae ! I wouldn't try to hide myself there. Not all what we are founding now in close nebulae are there since beta. FDevs are continually adding stuff. What do we know about locked regions? There is no possible permit to access them. They are out "of the game playing" until FDevs open them. So I don't think Raxxla is in one of them. What would be the point ? System permits, on the contrary... Click to expand... Proposes Raxxla is being held as end-game content requiring future features like Space Legs and atmospheric planets. Speculates Raxxla may contain a gateway to other universes or function as a Niven Ring megastructure.
If we're getting meta about it: Spoiler Got to assume Raxxla is likely to be end-game content. They've got to do something mind-blowing with it after all these years, they can't just do a little beige planet with a little ruin on it and say "here you go, Raxxla." would be something of an anticlimax, and really that's all the game currently can do. (assuming it's a planet, lol). I'm assuming they're waiting until Space Legs and Atmo-Planets will allow you land on and walk around on Raxxla - or whatever future game-upgrades they will end up making (just using space legs and atmo as examples of what is pencilled in for the future). If it does contain a gateway or something "to other universes" that would be an amazing way to finish the 10-year story run, having the "quest for Raxxla" ...
References Elite 1's 8 galaxies and discusses possibility of Stellar Forge generating multiple galaxies, suggesting Raxxla discovery could launch a new 10-year cycle with gateway to new galaxy.

The Raxxla mystery has persisted with no definitive progress, reflecting a deliberate design choice by Frontier to keep it indefinitely unsolved.
Hm, awkward to see that this "Mystery" is still around, cliffhanging with apparently no progress. Kinda reminds me of this https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rew7FoGy1Po Click to expand... I'll raise your apparently with a definitely [smile]
Raxxla likely permit-locked as ultimate endgame for Elite series; Frontier may be withholding it until game content matures enough to justify the mystery's resolution, similar to how Formidine Rift content evolved from derelict Anaconda.
Do we believe that Raxxla is not permit locked? That is, do we think that it is possible to find it fortuitously? Or will it never be found until FD are good and ready to let us find it? Click to expand... No. It is quite conceivable that Raxxla is permit locked. That would be kind of a cheat on Frontier's part but we have to consider the fact that Raxxla would be the ultimate "end game" event; not just for Elite: Dangerous but for the entire Elite series. Frontier could very well be holding Raxxla just out of reach until the game supports the kind of content that would really give unraveling its mystery the justice it deserves. Look at The Formidine Rift mystery. We've been told that the original content boiled down to a derelict Anaconda ... until the game's maturity gave the develop...
The removal of Elite/Founders missions may indicate The Dark Wheel found Raxxla and ceased offering search missions. The fact that TDW missions disappeared rather than persisting suggests their quest objective was completed.
TDW seems (seemed) more interested in other systems (Elite/Founders missions) than Shinrarta... And IF they got lost "what is lost", seems to me consistent they focused on R. Click to expand... Maybe the Elite/Founders missions got yanked because ... someone found Raxxla? I mean ... if they found it they wouldn't need to offer those missions anymore. Maybe the fact that they are missing from the game isn't a bug, oversight or omission after all. Maybe The Dark Wheel hushed up because their efforts paid off?
Raxxla may be implemented as a 'patch disguise' within the Q4 Exploration update, presented alongside radical changes to the exploration system as an end-of-tunnel discovery.
They know how much time you guys have put into trying to find Raxxla. If they just came out and said that, "sorry, there is no Raxxla planet out there" especially after letting it go on for so long you guys would flip out. So naturally all they can do is ignore you until people eventually move on. Again, I want to believe, truly, but... Click to expand... I agree with this theory but i also think, instead, Frontier will eventually implement Raxxla within a "patch disguise". And that would be the Q4 - Exploration update. Sounds convenient to me. Right now it's about building hype about the subject and keeping it alive. It would be brilliant to present radical changes to exploration system with Apple of Eden at the end of the tunnel; Raxxla.
Raxxla may contain an orbital gateway allowing infinite jumps anywhere in the galaxy, or The Club locks it down triggering a unique invasion CG. Alternatively, it could lead to development of a second 'Distant Bubble' similar to Colonia.
Possible ideas as to what would possibly happen once its discovered: It starts off as an Easter Egg, at first. But later after its discovery, a patch comes and one of two things could happen. 1). Its discovered that a "gateway" exists in orbit around the Planet (or other celestial body) that allows a single use, infinite jump to anywhere in the Galaxy. Or 2). The Club, now knowing where it is, put it on lock-down. Possibly leading to a unique "invasion" CG where a ingame faction or something organizes a CMDR filled militia to invaded, and force the system back open. Or, alternatively, The Club doesn't lock it down, but instead develops it and creates a second new "Distant Bubble" similar to Colonia. Click to expand...
