NGC 7822 ('The Siren of the Spinward Stars') exhibits multiple interconnected mythological references spanning Elysian underworld, Cepheus-Cassiopeia constellations, and Gorgon Research Facility linking to Perseus-Andromeda myth chains. The region contains anomalous black hole systems (S171 9 with three black holes) and the Cupids Arrow tourist beacon suggesting systematic clue placement. Investigation suggests NGC 7822 functions as either a direct Raxxla location or triangulation checkpoint for discovery.

Fluk's memorial mentions 'hole' and 'light' clues. Following these leads to Heart nebula's black hole, observing unusual purple pulsing in hyperspace near brown dwarf. May relate to neutron star near Soul.
Wasn't able to manage a screenshot, but when I used the 'hole' clue from Fluk's memorial, and flew to the only black hole around, there was a weird purple pulsing where the black hole should be, in hyperspace. Normal, or... TINFOILY!? EDIT: Following the 'hole' clue, I come to the only black hole in the Heart nebula. Fluk's memorial also mentions that he was the light of their life - and this system only has one light-producing entity, a brown dwarf, which was likely the purple pulsing object I saw in hypserspace. Don't know where to go with this, though. EDIT2: There is a Neutron star by Soul. Maybe that's the light?
Witchspace appears distinctly different near Heart and Soul regions with increased moving green spots and unusual noises, suggesting localized witchspace anomalies in this area.
It could've just been me, but witchspace seems very different near Heart and Soul - more moving green spots and odd noises. Don't know what a wov is. Sonnet 19 describes the frustration Sidney feels when he attempts to make clear his love for Stella in words, which is a form of woe, I think. wore = woe, I misspelled, sorry. I wrote the toast from memory, but I believe I wrote it just about perfectly. I'll be playing Elite later, if you want a screenshot. Click to expand... Thought it was vow, not woe, and misspelled too. Where do i change ingame language? My game is in Russian, and can't find that in options. In russian version of the codex that DW pledge is intrestingly spelled to mean not "to" (which can be understood 2 ways), but directly mean "for", but that might be bad tra...
The Orion Nebula and Orion Dark Region contain many unmapped planets with biological activity, suggesting few explorers thoroughly search these areas. Heart and Soul Nebula are additional candidates for investigation.
I looked around the Orion Nebula and Orian Dark Region. A lot of unmapped planets that had biological things on them. Not connected but that does tell me very few people actually really look for things. Going to check something out. Then off to Heart and Soul Nebula I suppose. Anything I should be on the lookout for over there?
The Dark Wheel is unlikely to be in the Coal Sack nebula due to extensive exploration there. Alternative locations like Heart Nebula are suggested, and obscure discoveries (crashed ships, Thargoid sensors, data beacons) in frontier exploring and tip-off missions may hold clues.
I'm moderately surprised no "dark wheel" has been found too. I don't think it's in the Coal Sack nebula, it seems Felicity Farseer connection was noticed and lots of probing has been going on in the close nebulae. Maybe some other place far away, like Heart nebula, then. Codex entry seems to suggest such thing could be found, eventually. I think bubble/frontier exploring is worth it, as well as tip off missions. For those with eyes to see here means finding some value in crashed ships, Thargoid sensors, things that are of some obscurity, rarely mentioned and often without canonn website entries. I even discovered a secret plot to mix onionhead into energy drinks, scanning some settlement data beacons. Stuff like this could have been out there for over a year now, and often has been disco...
The lengthy Dark Wheel toast, when consumed in parts, encodes a reference to W3(OH) and suggests the Heart Nebula as a location to investigate based on cryptographic analysis of the toast structure.
If you look at the toast. It is quite long, especially if you drink after each bit. Therefore... W3(OH) Seems the heart nebula is indeed the place to look
NGC7822 nebula region contains multiple Class O systems with notable features. S171 9 has 3 black holes; S171 34 contains Cupids Arrow tourist beacon identified as second step in investigation process by 46&2 group.
According to edsm, NGC7822 is known as The Siren of the Spinward Stars. Been through every Class O in it. Mapped quite a few. S171 9 is my favorite system of them. It has 3 black holes. Just favorite for beauty, not due to anything riddle related. S171 34 has the Cupids Arrow tourist beacon. That was the 2nd step in our process. "Ours" being the 46&2.
NGC 7822 nebula region near Elephant Trunk Nebula investigated as potential 'Mother of Galaxies' reference. Region contains numerous interesting systems with high visitation activity by explorers.
I have an idea (although Guru might as well change his name to BadWolf, seems every time I chase a hunch the moment I reach my destination I’m greeted with “first mapped by Guru-951. Ahhhhggghh! Lol.) anywho, there is justifiable debate on what “the mother of galaxies” means. Whether it’s a reference to Cassiopeia, the MW, or the largest of galaxies, or some reference to Hera etc etc I suppose nobody knows. But, if it means the largest, as far as Elites map and Skybox goes I think that title actually belongs to the Andromeda galaxy in actual, physical size. I was on my way to Andromedae System (which Guru beat me to) and what I always thought was some globular Galaxy turns out to be a tiny little Nebula near the cave and elephant trunk Nebula (I’m sure many of you have been there but it’...
If NGC7822's 'Siren' nickname existed prior to the codex, it may be significant either as a location itself or as a triangulation point for Raxxla.

Making my way though the systems now, currently docked at the little asteroid base in a class M near the edge of the Nebula. But, as predicted, after leaving Andromedae and arriving at my first destination I’m greeted with “First mapped by Guru-951” damnit!!! Lol. Seriously a Bad Wolf thing goin on there lol.
NGC 7822 nebula borders Elysian Shores sector (underworld mythology); located in Cepheus constellation (married to Cassiopeia); contains Gorgon Research Facility linking to Perseus myth and Andromeda constellation.
Upgraded my Conda again and got her up to 60ly and decided to go check out NGC 7822. I had been out that way once before with the intention of going to the rift, but in my 30ly ASP it wasnt happening. Turned back after like 7k light years. While perusing the systems in 7822 I began to research the nebula. I found an interesting chain of information that is highly relevant to a lot of things and thought I would share. To begin with NGC 7822 begins nearly on the border of the "Elysian Shores" sector. The Elysian Shores in greek mythology is related to the underworld and hence, persephone, hecate, etc... From a more scientific perspective, NGC 7822 is part of the Cepheus constellation, named after a Greek figure who was married to none other than Cassopeia. Through this research I found a ...
Comprehensive mythological connection: NGC 7822 at Elysian Shores (underworld/Persephone/Hecate); Cepheus-Cassiopeia pairing; Gorgon Research Facility linking Medusa-Perseus-Andromeda constellation narrative.
