Lucifer's unusual 1:1 tidal lock with 99-day orbit and proximity to Sirius B's high radiation may represent a game mechanic anomaly or deliberate discrepancy. Power extraction infrastructure and tidal mechanics may encode access sequences.

Sirius B's high radiation levels and Lucifer planet orbiting extremely close to White Dwarf with power extraction infrastructure may relate to FSD anomaly triggers. Gazetteer description emphasizes dangerous conditions.
You get the "Frame shift drive operating beyond safety limits" audible message when traveling toward Sirius B from Sirius A. It happens when you are still a great distance from the White Dwarf. This could be linked to the description of the system found in the Gazetteer: "Lucifer itself is an interesting planet. It orbits Sirius B very closely indeed, hence the enormous power the corporation can extract using the coils wrapped around the planet, and from their solar collector panels. Visitors should beware of the high radiation levels mainly from Sirius B, but also from the fuel plant." Click to expand... OK, makes sense now - thanks for the clarification. TBH I don't think our answer lies in the overcharged FSD, but it doesn't hurt to try (everything).
Lucifer appears 1:1 tidally locked with 99-day orbit period logged as likely typo. Dynamo power extraction system's viability questioned given tidal lock state. Potential game mechanic discrepancy worth investigating.
Wait a minute ... if Lucifer is tidally locked would it's dynamo even work? Anyone with a specialty in physics willing to try and work that out? Click to expand... From what I can see, Lucifer is 1:1 tidally locked. The 99 days orbit period in system info, seem to be a typo. I have bug reported it. The dynamo stuff could still work, I guess? From a point on Lucifer(stator) facing Sirius B(rotor), Sirius B will have it’s own rotation and the rotation from Lucifers rotation. Sirius B(and it’s magnetic field) is probably rotating so fast that Lucifers own movement is insignificant.
