Michael Brookes references to Lovecraft suggest Raxxla may involve cosmic horror, eldritch entities, or non-Euclidean geometry. 'The Eye of the Beholder' and Oisir-Raxxla lore may contain thematic clues to discovery method.

Original Raxxla lore from Alien World describes 'The Eye of the Beholder' as a Raxxlan projection over Winter D, with Oisir-Raxxla entities building structures. Game implementation may reference these original concepts.
Not sure if this has been stated before, but here is the supposed origin of the raxxla idea(according to the internet searching I just did.). Did anyone use this info to try to find it? http://elite-dangerous.wikia.com/wiki/Raxxla http://ski-ffy.blogspot.com/2012/02/alien-world-complete-illustrated-guide.html "The Eye Of The Beholder. A Raxxlan projection which appeared above the primitive world Winter D, populated by sentient, but unadvanced insectoids. The Eye became an overwhelming symbol of the evil that stared from the heavens, so disorienting the creatures that the Oisir-Raxxla were able to build their structure and depart without life being lost." | | Painting by F. Michael Brookes (likely FDev developer) shared content with Lovecraft references potentially connected to Raxxla mystery, suggesting cosmic horror or eldritch narrative elements.
Take a look at this: https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?...0200703120236208.1073741825.1107456896&type=3 Basically it’s Michael Brookes back. But the Lovecraft reference always makes me think... H.P. Lovecraft's Yog-Sothoth as gate-keeper to multiverse parallels Raxxla concept. Quote emphasizes that perspective defines nature of interaction with the gate/entity.
So, it's been a long time since I've reported back on this search for Raxxla. I have found a similar 'thing' to it... "Yog-Sothoth knows the gate. Yog-Sothoth is the gate. Yog-Sothoth is the key and guardian of the gate. Past, Present, and future is all-in-one in Yog-Sothoth. He knows where the Old Ones broke through of old, and where They shall break through again. He knows where They have trod through earth's fields, and where They still tread them, and why no one can behold Them as They tread." -H.P. Lovecraft, 'The Dunwich Horror' Copied from the Wiki. Spoiler The encounter makes it very clear that it is the point of view which defines the nature of the interaction; there is nothing inherently evil or frightening about him. He opens the gates of the Multiverse to anyone who is ...
Lori Jameson documents Lovecraftian mythology connections: Celaeno as one of seven Pleiades stars housing the Great Library with stolen Elder God secrets, and Hyades as the sky field containing Carcosa with its binary star system.
I also found this. Celaeno Spoiler Celaeno[edit] Celaeno is one of the seven stars of the Pleiades. On its fourth planet is the Great Library of Celaeno, which houses stone tablets containing secrets stolen from the Great Old Ones and Elder Gods. Professor Laban Shrewsbury spent some time here, transcribing the library's knowledge in his notebook—a manuscript that would later be known as the Celaeno Fragments. Hyades Spoiler Hyades[edit] Hyades is the sky field where the city of Carcosa and its planet are located. The planet-host star of Carcosa is described as "twin Suns", making it then a Solar-type binary star.[URL="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Extraterrestrial_places_in_the_Cthulhu_Mythos#cite_note-7"][7][/URL] Sirius or Sothis Spoiler Xoth[edit][T]he spawn of Cthul...
Lori Jameson connects developer Mark Holdsworth's Lovecraft penchant to potential Raxxla clues, searching for systems named after Lovecraftian entities like Yog-Sothoth, Yuggoth, and Dunwich. Brain trees potentially relate to 'vaporous brains of the spiral nebulae' from Lovecraft.
Would fit MB’s penchant for Lovecraft so has anybody searched the galmap for Yog Sothoth Yuggoth Dunwich...... Vaporous brains of the spiral nebulae might be the brain trees..... Click to expand... All of the above, nothing... not even Dunwich.
Scytale identifies imagery references to Derleth's Hastur and Byakhees escaping Carcosa in the Aldebaran system, connecting Lovecraftian lore to specific galactic locations.
Bottom right corner looks quite interesting... Click to expand... You mean Derleth's Hastur The Indicible and his Byakhees jumping free out of Carcosa in the Aldebaran system ?
Mark Brennan's (MB) published tattoo designs may contain encoded locations or clues to Raxxla, incorporating Lovecraftian and Norse mythology references alongside celestial imagery.
Would love to know what MB thinks about his tattoo being used as a cipher/map for Raxxla
MB's tattoo incorporates Lovecraftian elements (Hastur/Carcosa/Aldebaran/Byakhees), Viking/Norse lore (Yggdrasil, Odin, Niöhöggr), Underworld mythology (Hades, Charon, Styx), and potentially Berenices Hair constellation, suggesting layered esoteric clues.
I have really no idea what 8 is. Click to expand... MB was/is a fan of Lovecraft & Co. (8: Hastur the Unspeakable jumping out of Carcosa, his home in Aldebaran, with his Byakhees-servants) Also fan of Viking lore (The Yggdrasil tree, Odin and a few other Nordse characters, Gnà, Niöhöggr...) The Underworld, (Hades, Charon, Styx,) looks pretty obvious, indeed. As does... The Myth, which access/gate is guarded by Arch. St Michael Can't find who that bat winged "stars-eater/puker" in 5 is, though... Crux and Polaris (Sirius ?) are my guesses for the stars by The Gate. (Now, Berenice's hair...wow ! Good sight !) Aona system has no planets despite Elite lore references. Tionisla and similar historically significant systems may have inconsistencies between lore and actual game data worth investigating.

Hastur the Unspeakable associated with Carcosa/Aldebaran in Lovecraft sources and Cthulhu RPG sourcebooks. 'The place that is no place' mythology suggests potential connection to hidden or inaccessible locations in game design.
The shaman's journey through the different parts of the cosmos is symbolized by the hamingja concept of the shape-shifting soul, and gains another symbolic dimension for the Norse soul in the account of Oðin's ravens, Huginn and Muninn Odin's ability to send his "thought" (Huginn) and "mind" (Muninn) to the trance-state journey of shamans. Azathoth from Lovecraft lore described as existing outside space and time, 'a place that isn't a place,' potentially influencing Raxxla's conceptual design. Connection to ultimate chaos and cosmic placement suggests parallels with theoretical Raxxla mechanics.

Which brings to mind Azathoth. “The Far Daemon (god really)” “The Whisperer in the Darkness” “the omphalos chained at the center of all space” “the ancient legends of Ultimate Chaos, at whose center sprawls the blind idiot god Azathoth” he’s all powerful and exists outside space and time (a place that isn’t a place).
