Historical record of experiments carrying various cargo items toward Bovomit sector when it was suspected related to Formidine Rift permit lock; uncertain if repeated on Polaris.
Alright, but still I suspect there must be a trick to "unlock" Raxxla, wherever it may be. This is a common ingame mechanic (p.e. Guardian Obelisks and Data Points, Thargoid Surface sites etc...). I wouldn't be surprised if you have to carry specific items in your cargo hold to be able to jump to Polaris, for instance, even if such type of Permit lock hasn't been experienced before ingame. Click to expand... I know that there were some experiments carrying various cargo items toward the Bovomit sector back when it was thought that the Bovomit permit lock might have bearing on the Formindine Rift. Not sure is something like that has been carried out on Polaris.
Suggests carrying exotic cargo items (like Sap 8 Core Container) to permit-locked systems; parallels Bovomit sector experiments related to Formidine Rift.
Might be more obvious than that. Isn’t there an item that is supposed to be alien, stored in a containment vessel, that could be some form of unstable data store? I remember some of the DW missions were related to crystals. Since we recently have Guardian Ancient Data Terminals in-game perhaps there is a tie-in to decoding them here? Sorry I’m a bit vague, early morning wake up due to noisy dawn chorus & breakfast coffee effect has just about dissipated...zzzzzzz Click to expand... You mean the Sap 8 Core Container? Worth a try. Apparently they can be bought at malsipina Gateway, though EDDB doesn't confirm. Maybe one should simply load up on all existing exotic cargo stuff and make a round trip to the Permit locked Systems.
FRifters completed a three-week pilgrimage through Project Dynasty, exploring the Rift, Zurara, Hawking's Gap, and Conflux with coordinates, but found no Raxxla despite extensive searching in remote regions.
Impossible. Who would be crazy enough to go looking for something that might not be in the game? Click to expand... FRifters!
Code analysis of original Elite shows no hint of Raxxla. The procedural generation lookup table would have made a system named Raxxla impossible in original game. David Braben confirmed Raxxla did not exist in original Elite.
It has been indicated that Raxxla was in all the versions. Click to expand... Indicated where? The code for the original Elite has been combed through and there's no hint of Raxxla. The lookup table used by the original game's procedural generation to seed the galaxy's with system names would make it impossible for system named Raxxla to have existed. David Braben confirmed in an interview that Raxxla did not exist in the original Elite: http://www.atlantis-prophecy.org/recollection/?load=interviews&id_interview=37 When Elite: Plus was released in 1991 it was without The Dark Wheel novella. Instead it came with a novella called Imprint which contained no hint of Raxxla. The original Elite game was almost entirely complete when Robert Holdstock was hired to flesh out the game universe...
Explorer plans to return to the 'Smurf Galaxy' for closer examination, suggesting it warrants further investigation for Raxxla-related anomalies.
I have planned to go back to the "Smurf Galaxy" to see if I can get a closer look.
Hearsay from Reddit referencing an FDev interview stating Raxxla's system had been discovered and honked by a player, but the planet itself was never detail-scanned. Claims source is unverified and burden of proof questioned.
its in this thread somewhere.... (Raxxla is out there somewhere too....) Ayerc Master I saw a reddit thread that referenced an interview with someone at FDev who confirmed the system in which it exists had been honked by a player, but the planet was not detail scanned. I didn't see the source material, so it's just hearsay from me, but I like to believe that it's true. If nothing else for the, "missed it by that much" aspect. Was it you? Me? We may never know. There you go solid proof!
Bessel shares same letter combo structure as Raxxla (6 letters, 2 doublets), suggesting potential significance in system naming patterns related to Raxxla's identity.
No problems getting here. I was able to plot straight from the bubble to the Bessel system. Worth it already... Click to expand... Nice. It seems like an interesting region. Bessel is a 'candidate' system. It has the same letter combo as Raxxla(6 letter 2 doublets). Bessle would have been even better.
Documented French expedition with 12 CMDRs conducted specifically to find Raxxla. No evidence of success found.
Just throwing this out there....there was an apparent French Expedition specifically to find Raxxla. https://elitedangerous.station.community/actualites/en-route-pour-raxxla/ Looks like all of 12 CMDR's made the trip. I assume they didn't find it.
French expedition route and destinations don't show obvious reasoning for investigating particular locations in search for Raxxla.

Over 200 referenced systems identified across 3-year thread with coordinated spreadsheet approach to track candidates, motivations, and elimination status.
Tying up loose ends Dear Artuz (R2, R², Raxxla Researchers), I want to promote a straightforward strategy I'm working on: Tie up the loose ends in this 3 year old thread (see bullet list below) Add all relevant locations to this sheet (with your motivation in the 'info' column or reference column as a url to forum/reddit/...) to coordinate our efforts. At p.158 of 257 in this 3y/o thread, I've already found over 200 referenced systems (thousands more in ref. regional sectors). Please add any and all candidates and related locations with relevant information, even if you already explored, abandoned or eliminated them already. I plan on adding the locations mentioned in the remaining 39% of this thread, but I'm tired atm. Don't report a location as Eliminated until you're sure it'...
The observed blue galaxy at KASUAE XM-W D1-0 may be IC 10 from the Local Group, possibly showing two galaxies in collision or a galaxy remnant post-collision.
is not Raxxla. Went to KASUAE XM-W D1-0. Definitely a galaxy. There's no longer any stars between me and the blue galaxy. Still not quite sure what galaxy it is tho. Click to expand... Presumably would have to be one of the Local Group, not that that narrows it down any. Looks like it may be two galaxies colliding, or a remnant moving out after a collision from the larger galaxy? At the risk of restarting another doomed Cassiopeia search, dare I say it looks like IC 10 perhaps if the smaller object (of the two on the right) is the nebula in the image from the link below? https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Local_Group
Commander traveled 56,000 light-years to KASUAE XM-W D1-0 and confirmed a visible blue galaxy in the distance, distinct from surrounding stars, though identity remains unknown.

Urban legend status unconfirmed; claim attributed to FDev panel that player may have discovered and left Raxxla without recognizing it. Requires primary source verification.
The most depressing thing I've heard so far is "According to FDev a CMDR entered the system, honked and moved on." > . < Click to expand... This is urban myth. If there is evidence somewhere of FDev confirming that someone visited Raxxla and left unaware, we need to find it and link it in the OP. Personally, I think it is urban myth but if it does exist, it is exactly the sort of thing this thread should record. I have so far collected the following rumour, speculation and he-said-she-said forum foam:- "Some person told me. They said someone was in the system but just honked and jumped away." "They also said that it came from the FDev panel, idk how credible it is but I wouldnt be suprised if it happened" "I like the idea that Raxxla was honked. That some casual explorer just saw ...
FDev livestream image of Raxxla shows visual similarities to Ancient Guardian ruins structures, Dyson spheres, and asterism patterns, suggesting guardian technology or constructed megastructure.
Going to shamelessly repost what I said about the Raxxla image in the Livestream Recap thread! Commander personally visited Avalon system and performed scanning searches with no results found. Search postponed pending Q4 update. Data point for Avalonian location theory testing.
Replies to several issues: 1. Shadow Chasers is fine by me. 2. If we want a more reclusive name I'd again suggest Widows Sons as in Freemasons, because chasing secrets (though of the inner self) is exactly what they are doing. Alternatively I'd suggest "Eleusis" as in Elysian Mysteries or the good old Arcanum from Vampire: The Masquerade. 3. The idea of an online data referrence where theories can be placed and results be posted is quite neat. As I play on PS4 I cannot install addons that collect data so I have to handcheck everything. An example could be for my avalonian theory: Avalon, Place that is no place / checked by commander XY / No results / Date. 4. Btw.: Yes I went to Avalon and did a bit of scanning with no result. I then decided to postpone my search till the Q4 update.
Following the Zeta Cassiopeia to NGC 7822 pathway led to discovery of a Cupid's Arrow tourist beacon, suggesting the clue chain methodology is valid. This substantive finding provides confirmation of being on the correct track through the riddle sequence.
While I totally agree that historically Raxxla being in the bubble makes the most sense, I for one am not concerned with where this riddle is leading me to, or What it's leading me to. I am just following what I see as being the sign posts along the way. We have not yet seen anyone, except for this Alpha Cygni development (which seems super interesting), produce any signs of being on the right track. For us, being in the NGC 7822 nebula specifically being there due to a previous clue (Brow Star, Zeta Cass), and then finding another clue once we got to the next location in our theory, a more solid one, in the form of the Cupids Arrow tourist beacon, was something of substance. It seemed to us to be a sign of being on track. It was uncanny. We did what we saw as the first step, moved to the...
The Cupids Arrow tourist beacon in NGC 7822 aligns very well with the Andromeda Galaxy and Polaris in relation to the Bubble, suggesting intentional celestial positioning.
Interesting observation, the location of the Cupids Arrow tourist beacon in NGC 7822 aligns very well with the Andromeda Galaxy and Polaris/Bubble https://i.Please use another image host/2RLnxioh.jpg https://i.Please use another image host/8O5d3yph.jpg
Zurara logs reference beacons deployed around EL/Terraformable worlds that have never been discovered. Rebecca states answers are 'back in the core (bubble)' and returned directly to bubble from Zurara.
Just reviewing the zurara logs from Rebecca. Seems relatively clear the zurara is in the same boat as the other generation ships, backup locations to escape to in the event of a thargoid invasion of the bubble. There are only two interesting things of note if Raxxla and the thargoids/zurara have anything to do with each other. (Which they may not) 1. The zurara logs say they left beacons around EL/Terraformable worlds that so far as I’ve heard haven’t ever been found to actually exist yet. 2. Rebecca says that the answers to why and who are “back in the core(bubble), not out here” and she went straight from the zurara back to the bubble. Considering how little of the galaxy has been discovered, if the quote of FD being surprised it hasn’t been found (without clues mind you) is real an...
System already fully scanned and mapped with nothing unusual detected despite matching nebula location theory.
Just so happens thats where I am right now (logged out for festivities but will be there...soon). Click to expand... Couldnt keep away, logged quickly back in and a few jumps later...nope nothing, system already scanned and mapped, nothing weird here. Going to map the nebula whilst I'm here, it seemed a likely candidate to me also, rule this one out.
Antares was traveling from Sirius toward an unknown system with wreckage found in Luyten 205-128. Jacques was traveling from Gliese 1269 toward Beagle Point. Starship 1 was traveling from Furuhjelm I-645 to Azaleach. Both Antares and Jacques were heading toward the galactic core, while Starship 1 was not.
I wonder if we could compile the GalNet miss-jumps? Maybe there's a region of (witch)space which is a sort of Bermuda triangle, well pyramid, and then try jumping in/out of it to see if we can miss-jump too. Some are probably just relating to Thargoid teases, remember when the hyperspace interdictions were just rumour, but could be something. Click to expand... Antares was going from Sirius to an unknown system(possibly Antares). The wreckage was found in Luyten 205-128. Starship 1 was going from Furuhjelm I-645 to Azaleach, when it blew up. Jacques was going from Gliese 1269 to Beagle Point. I don't think those locations can tell us much, but I could be wrong. Both Antares and Jacques were heading towards the core of the galaxy. Starship 1 were not. "I saw a place of extraord...
Unknown Artifacts have been tested at Formidine Rift, Sagittarius A*, Beagle Point, Conflux, and Hawkins Gap, consistently pointing to Merope. UA/UP distortion fields resemble hyperspace entry/exit effects, suggesting frame shift proximity.
Anyone tried bringing one to formidine rift? Where woud it point from there? Click to expand... They have been brought to every corner of the galaxy. FRift, Sag A, Beagle point, Conflux and Hawkins Gap. They always point to Merope. I also think the toast of TDW predates UAs and UPs with quite a bit. The UA and UP do however have a distortion field around them, that is similar to what we see when we enter/exit hyperspace/supercruise. This could indicate that they hover on the edge of frame shift?
Multiple major expeditions (Formidine Rift, Sag A, Beagle Point, Conflux, Hawkins Gap) and exploration findings consistently point back to Merope as a central reference point in Raxxla investigations.
Going back to the old adage of "a player has jumped through but didn't investigate", and basing it on the assumption that A) they honked the system and B) cashed in that honk: Is there a way to search EDSM for a list of all systems that have only ever had one player go through them with a basic system scan? That might help narrow the field somewhat... Click to expand... EDSM is filled by players that upload data. So if that person didn't use any tools that uploads data - it might be not on EDSM at all. They have been brought to every corner of the galaxy. FRift, Sag A, Beagle point, Conflux and Hawkins Gap. They always point to Merope. I also think the toast of TDW predates UAs and UPs with quite a bit. The UA and UP do however have a distortion field around them, that is similar...
Commander with Elite ranks has tested SAP 8 cores and Antimatter Containment Units extensively since 3.3 with no confirmed mechanical effect discovered. Items historically appeared in Dark Wheel missions (v1.4).
I have already tried most of that since 3.3 with no luck (except going to triton) , but it is always good to double check. Did you happen to notice a quirk with the route plotter near HIP 22460 ? There are two systems about 21 ish LY apart on either side of hip 22460 (the course nearly intersects HIP 22460). I had the jump range to jump between them, but the route plotter insisted on two shorter jumps around HIP 22460. When I manually selected the other system I was able to make the jump. Click to expand... Hm ok good to know. Could you provide any more infos about what you have done? What were youre ranks at the time? Could/did you make any connections with antimatter containment units who are also carried by the Military Courier Vessel? Also were you allied with the Dark Wheel in Shin...
Systematic scan of named systems in Jewel Box Cluster found no artificial structures, Notable Stellar Phenomena, or beacons. Located untagged Earth-like world in cluster; HR 4887 is 1700 LY closer to Sol than cluster association.
My investigation of the Jewel Box Cluster (NGC 4755) has drawn a blank. I have scanned all the named systems in the cluster and there is nothing artificial here, no Notable Stellar Phenomena or beacons of any kind. . One of the stars (HR 4887) is about 1700 LY closer to Sol than the rest of the cluster, although it should be associated with it in real life - but this just happens sometimes in ED. There has been little mapping done and there are only a few First Mapped tags, including the only two worlds with Biological signals, both in the same system (forgot to screenshot the name, will have to check my Codex entry later), featuring Anemones. There is one Ammonia World (CPD-59 4534 planet 1) but no Earth-like Worlds in the named systems, however I have found an untagged Earth-like World...
Investigation of Nysa system found Coriolis station, outpost, surface outposts, and dockable settlements with data points available for scanning. Thorough exploration conducted through 25+ instances.
Going off of the earlier commander's theory about Nysa: I did run into something similar to what he had said. I went through the system with a fine tooth comb after instancing around 25 times and never seeing a ship named Child. For the record, you cannot follow an NPC if they drop at a station. Whether you head to the station yourself or follow their low wake, they will not be there. I believe the commander was reading far too much into the NPC vanishing as it is simply how things work in the game at the moment. So, fine tooth comb. The system has a Coriolis station, an outpost, a handful of surface outposts, and two dockable surface settlements. Two of these outposts have data points which you can scan, so I figured I would play detective and go snoop around. While both messages receiv...
Commander Guru referenced reaching Raxxla as a 'personal journey' requiring cryptology, sound spectrograph analysis, and specific navigation patterns. Guru's account disappeared after claiming emotional distress at journey's end.
5) it's something that both CMDR Guru and someone in FDev said -> reaching Raxxla is a personal journey [...] i.e. Go to Nyse, follow child 3 times clockwise then 5 times counterclockwise and then the gates of heaven will open. Click to expand... CMDR Guru last words were that he cried (in RL) at the end of this ordeal, and then in-character he seems to have committed suicide (account disappeared). And following Child 3 times, at 500k LS each, would be madness-inducing, so if this is the type of "personal journey" we can expect (along with having to study cryptology and knowing how to do sound spectograph analysis), then I guess tears of madness and suicide make sense. From a more pragmatic point of view, Raxxla has been described as "the greatest treasure of the galaxy" in this thread...
Month-long search in Formidine Rift found minimal biological planets (roughly 1 per 100+ systems) and no apparent Raxxla or Club-related discoveries. Suggests random exploration may be ineffective method.
Im in Formidine Rift for a month now, searching for stuf, hoppefully some to be related to Raxxla or "Club" related lore. There is nothing, litterally maybe get one biological planet every 100+ systems. This at random exploration is so demorilizing...
Two unknown wreckage sites discovered in Colonia region, appearing to be large station-like pieces. Log entries suggest non-human contact associated with these sites.

7 crashed ships and 2 unknown wreckage sites discovered through deciphering mythology-related trackstl associated with Alexander the Great's travels. Courier missions to Colonia triggered discovery pattern. Non-human contact evidence in crash site logs.
Oh good. Well, I was recently given 20 courier missions from the bubble to Colonia, not boom data delivery, if that's a matter. Since then, 1 week ago today, I have discovered 7 crashed ships sites (not rng wreckage) and 2 Unknown Wreckage sites. The UW sites appear to be something large like pieces of a station, however the logs appear to indicate it is a ship of sorts. 1 crash site has 4 ships and the log for that site appears to suggest non-human contact, as does one of the UW sites. 5 of the crashed ships were discovered through tip offs, all the rest were found through deciphering mythology related trackstl associated with Alexander the Greats travels. To my great pleasure, the original missions sent me to Deriso, which means derision, or to mock. I figure at this point (hopefully) ...
Commander reported completing all Colonia missions with no unusual or out-of-ordinary events occurring, suggesting Raxxla is not triggered through standard mission gameplay in this region.
Some random thoughts following some fruitless footling around the core systems... Art Tornqvist - if not a clue or anagram but an actual in-game character - Art was a shipboard mechanic, circa 2296 based out of Tau Ceti system. Now do we know of any vessels existing within that time frame setting off from TC? I'd always liked the idea of it being literal. And there being a crashed vessel some place, possibly containing another clue... Click to expand... I stopped by Tau Ceti because I agree this system sounds fishy. Its the first recorded mention of Raxxla, so it seems reasonable that whoever discovered it was based out of this system. Tau Ceti is also the first human colony outside Sol, and had indigenous alien life until the human settlers wiped them out. "Art" = Arete = Greek...
