Formidine Rift & Generation Ships

Obfuscated mission sightings reported across Empire space (east), Federation space (west), independent systems toward Polaris, and rim regions. No geographic limit or common target system identified.
I've done a number of the "Obfuscated" missions all over the bubble. "East" side of Empire space. "West" side of Federation space. The last independent systems before heading in the direction of Polaris. Peregrina heading towards the rim... and a bunch of others. I don't think there is a geographic limit to where the missions appear, nor is there a common system which they point towards. I'll be following developments here as I'm actively involved with the Unknown Artefact research over in the OMFGHOWBIG thread.
Mission name 'Obfuscated In The Outer Rim' directly references upper left corner of galactic map (covered by map regions 6 & 7), establishing spatial focus area.
Spatial References This entry lists spatial references related directly or indirectly to Raxxla. All maps are stolen from the Galactic Mapping Community Project. Name: moon of Lave Description: Ancient history believed the moon of Lave to be Raxxla;however Lave has no visible moon. References: Name: Outer Rim Description: Upper left corner of the GalMap. Covered by map 6 & 7?. References: The mission name "Obfuscated In The Outer Rim" is supposedly a direct reference to this region of space. Name: Soontill Description: Known Thargoid location?. Visited, all bodies explored, including all 9 belt clusters, nothing found. References: Grid reference: 250 : -46 : 121
Received PM suggesting Raxxla could be in either the bubble or the Formidine Rift; pursuing bubble search first as more manageable.
Leave no stone unturned I've received a PM offering help in the search for Raxxla. It is much appreciated. The PM lists two possibilities for the location; the bubble and the Formidine Rift. So I've been thinking about those two areas, and decided why not start with the bubble. Next question is how to best organize the search as not to waste effort. I have no answer for that yet, except that it must be easy to use, delegation of areas must be simple and it must easy to get an overview of progress. Determining the systems to visit could made using the cube systems method available in edsm.net. Maybe exclude any inhabited systems, and then look at bodies to see if anyone of them have no orbital periods, suggesting a roque body such as Raxxla.
Jaiotu clarifies that while something exists in the Formidine Rift (per The Formidine Rift Mystery thread), Drew Wagar confirmed it isn't Raxxla and Frontier hasn't revealed Raxxla details to him.
Found a possible clue while reading Reclamation after Drew mentioned it was cannon: "You've been to the Frontier?" "To it, threw it, past it. Don't tell no-one, but I've got as far as the Formadine Rift. Not many folk can say that. And no one has gone past it and lived to tell the tale. Edge of the galactic arm. Take a line from Reorte to Riedquat, to the edge of the arm, and keep going. [...] Quiet for the most part until..." "Until What?" "Well let's just say there's some serious [can't post explicits] out there. Stuff you wouldn't believe... [...] It'll all come back to bite them one day. It's all there in the Imperial Databanks somewhere... [...] Have you ever heard of the Tionisla System? So, does that mean it may be possible to buy the system information for whatever she was talking...
Clarifies that Formidine Rift is a separate, solvable mystery with in-game clues and beacons, while Raxxla is a different mystery where only that it exists in-game is confirmed. The two are not interrelated.
I'm not confuse. I know what you told us about the Formidine Rift, and I remember well what you said about Raxxla too. It's clear for me. You said few times on few broadcasts that Raxxla was ingame (FDev said that to you and authorized you to say that), findable by player, etc... All I mentioned in my post. That's right that there is some conversation during the BroCast where you told about the Formidine Rift, but you also told about Raxxla and said that I mentioned. I'm confused now, as you seems to say you never told us what I mentionned. Click to expand... In that case it's probably a little confusion of the subject changing during discussion on the podcasts. To clarify. The Formidine Rift has been in-game for a while and is solvable via in game clues. Those have been clearly se...
Drew explains that the Formidine Rift mystery predates Horizons; when Horizons launched, they expanded interactive elements and wove in player-generated content like the Galactic Mapping Project. Player actions have influenced how the mystery unfolds.
They are clearly not Formidine Rift Mystery, they just another set of clues Click to expand... Horizons didn't exist when the Formidine Rift mystery was originally composed. When Horizons arrived we took the opportunity to expand the things that players could interact with as part of the mystery and weave in player generated content such as the Galactic Mapping project. Ditto the Guardians, Ditto the Commanders. Some of the original things in game have been updated due to the game being much more sophisticated than it was at launch. Players have also influenced how the Formidine Rift story unfolds. Cheers, Drew. - - - Updated - - - Finally, I also want to point out that this thread relates to Raxxla, and not the Formidine Rift. We have a whole thread for that matter, so let's no...
Salomé was interested in finding both Raxxla and the Formidine Rift, though her level of success in either quest is unknown.
Ok ! So I admit I made a confusion between the Formidine Rift and Raxxla. Probably because both are linked with Salomé. Click to expand... Salomé certainly was interested in finding both. It's unknown what success she had. Cheers, Drew.
Theory that an R.R. (Sirius Corporation route) line continues past the Zurara wreck location, potentially leading to Raxxla along a colonization route of strategic importance.
Coming from the Rifter's thread here, Someone posted and I discussed the idea with him that the R.R. line continues past the Zurara, figured it might lead to Raxxla, as it seems to be a line of great importance to Sirius, who had started colonizing along that route.
Lore analysis: Raxxla was reachable with primitive early jump drive technology with poor range. Suggests Raxxla is within bubble or maximum 1000 light-years away, not in distant deep space.
Agree, no stone can be left unturned. Still about 400 billion systems to check, so plenty of work left. Click to expand... I was under the impression it was much closer to the bubble? Lore says it was reachable hundreds of years ago by the very earliest jump drive tech. (Which did not have good range due to distance and fuel constraints. This tells me it's either hidden within the bubble, or at least within 1000LY or so at an absolute max
Expedition to Formidine Rift visiting Zurara and EAFOTS bases with no Raxxla trace found. Reports observing unusual star patterns described as an arrow pointing direction.
Good day meatbags! just our weekly check in to keep this thread alive. We have found no trace of Raxxla out in the Formidine Rift while we were out visiting our conque...we mean the Zurara and the EAFOTS bases. The lights sure are pretty out here in witch space. Like a sirens song. We think we see a cluster of bright blue stars pointing in an arrow behind us, but that is probably just space madness, will try jumping in different directions for a little while.
Explorer reports being at Hell Port in Seagull Nebula within close proximity to Rosette Nebula area, suggesting potential search coordination opportunity.
^^"Rosette" looks as good a path to Raxxla as any other paths. Click to expand... Funny thing ... I wasn't aware of this effort on Reddit but I just happen to be out in the are (at Hell Port in the Seagull Nebula) and within a stone's throw of Rosette ... Kismet?
Previous human exploration waves may have had centuries to explore the galaxy before the current era. With 1000 years of hyperspace travel available since 2100, earlier explorers could have reached distant regions that remain undiscovered.
I still maintain that it's located much closer to the bubble, Since it was reachable hundreds of years ago with the earlies jump drive tech, long before the rest of the galaxy was explored... Click to expand... I must respectfully disagree! We're told it's a long distance away, although admittedly whether or not that's still lore is up for debate. Jump drive tech hasn't been steadily improving, it had effectively taken a massive step backwards for a considerable time prior to the FSD. The real Dark Wheel have been searching for Raxxla and haven't found it, with the possible exception of when Jason Ryder found it not long prior to 3125 . (Unless something's changed in the last few years!) It was a mythical place even in Jason and Alex Ryder's days. It's worth bearing in mind that h...
Commander investigating the Formidine Rift region, specifically checking listening post locations for potential Raxxla-related findings.
I'm heading off to the Formindine ride shortly to have a look round. I've no idea what I'll find, probably nothing but I'm wondering if there is anything at the listening post locations.
Formidine Rift investigation is viewed as preliminary preparation for the main Raxxla discovery. Previous failure to find Zurara without direct guidance suggests players must perform better on Raxxla search.
I was reading through the op and was thinking about the assumptions about Raxxla. Do we assume anything about how we will know if we have found it? It will be named Raxxla? We will or will not be able to land on it? One would imagine it to have structures on it, perhaps even visible from space. If The Dark Wheel is there now, we should be attacked upon entering the system. Click to expand... 1. We've been told that Raxxla has been in-game since release. This means that it pre-dates Horizons. It very possible that it will NOT be a planet that we can currently land on. If there is anything near Raxxla that we can interact with then I (personally) expect it to be some sort of starport. 2. There is no reason to believe that The Dark Wheel have found Raxxla. Alex Ryder apparently discovere...
Clarification that Formidine Rift and Raxxla are distinct in-game mysteries with separate investigation communities.
Is star class X actually a thing in the game??? Also is there a Raxxla discord. and also also, I need to get this seperated in my head right, as you mentioned the formidine rift... are the rift and raxxla a separate things? If so then how does COR link with Salome as their leader, and do they actually care about finding Raxxla? or is it just their group name, because there seems to be some crossover but it seems to be roleplay related?? Click to expand... Class 'X' is a definition in a file someplace. There's no evidence that there are any class X objects in game. The Rift and Raxxla are separate 'mysteries'. I'm not going to talk about CoR - I'm already on their excrement list
Connects Raxxla to Formidine Rift mystery by proposing Raxxla as origin of ship disappearances, with Raxxlians capturing passing ships and sending them through gateways, binding both mysteries together.
It's not 8000 something ly back from the Zurara, is it? [big grin] Click to expand... The Zura...what? This storyline abomination is the filthy substitute of the original FR Mystery ! I am still convinced that the Rift has been misplaced in the range of one galactic arm, and should be in the Orio-Persean Gap (Just as the Old Lady said: ...until the end of the arm...). There, Raxxla floating obfuscated in the outer rim (of our arm, the arm) and the " Raxxlian " capturing every ship passing by and sending them through the gateway to...wherever. They'd like it or not. Which binds Raxxla to the origins of the Rift myth of ships disappearing, almost as much as having The Children of Raxxla messing around with the Formidine Rift storyline as the main role stars. So...genuine.
Author speculates Raxxla may be connected to the broader Formidine Rift mystery rather than a separate location, referencing exploration of Oort cloud regions for clues.
Ah....I had it in my head that it was a planetary nebula. That explains why it didn't show up as a system in EDSM. Derp. So, what then? If it's like any of the other dozens of nebulae I've seen, they've all been bagged and tagged. If there was anything there, wouldn't it have been spotted? Click to expand... I for myself was joking about the Rim Nebula. I don't think it is related to the ..obfuscated in the outer rim.. clue. But, again, who knows ? By the way... I've just entered the Oort cloud region. Columbus Expedition camp ~669ly from Sol was considered immensely far 30 years prior (in 3274). This establishes that 660-670ly was the effective exploration limit historically, constraining where ancient Raxxla discovery would have been possible if found before modern FSD capabilities.
In-Game reference to how far is far prior to FSD travel FINALLY I've discovered an in-game Lore reference to hyperdrive travel in the past and what was considered "far" by long-range explorers - and it's dated! This data might help to figure out where Raxxla could be, given that (if some theories are correct) it must have been possible to reach hundreds of years ago. 660ly was considered immensely far out only 30 years ago, possibly further than anyone travelled before (in recorded history) - from Sol, the planet where this camp was found (Wregoe VK-E c12-0) is 669 ly away. https://canonn.science/codex/columbus-expedition-camp-14/ It gives us an idea of what "normal people" considered extremely far. Here's the logs: Spoiler TIME TO MOVE ON 1/4 Expedition Log: 09/10/3274 We’ve made...
Type 1 hyperdrive technology was lost during GalCop's collapse. If generation ship routes and destinations were public knowledge, they would still be known. The existence of early expeditions claiming discovery centuries after hyperdrive adoption suggests deliberate suppression or catastrophic loss of navigational records.
Ok, so technically what you've discovered is lore on the state of some public knowledge more than 100 years into the use of the type 2b. They're describing themselves as one of the early expeditions out into the black. An early expedition 1,000 years after the use of hyperspace started? I don't doubt they think they are one of the early expeditions out into the black. But it completely stretches credibility that they are. Knowledge of expeditions has been lost or was never public knowledge in the first place - if not, the routes & destinations of all the generation ships would be known. Personally I think what we're seeing here is more evidence of the loss of knowledge. We know type 1 hyperdrive tech was somehow lost in the collapse of Galcop. If something which would have been so fund...
Gamma Formidine Rift site unique for elite NPC encounters and comms logs indicating 'signal that was NOT human' and 'something that does NOT want to be found', distinguishing it from Alpha and Beta sites.
Whilst at the Gamma Formidine Rift site - I was buzzed by 2 elite NPC's. Very Strange as this did not happen on the other sites and is the only time I have seen NPC's this far out. The comms logs from this site indicate that 'Last Jump we found a signal that was NOT human', and 'there is something out here that does NOT want to be found'. I am discounting the Zurara as its a human vessel. I checked all systems with 35 LY (one jump for me) and found nothing. I'm going to go back with my explorerconda to explore all systems within its 55LY jump range. Once all system's are scanned I will search for USS in each system. And BIG respect to all the rifters out there for finding these locations - and how the heck you plotted a course across the rift to the Zurara is beyond me - I got stuck even...
Investigator proposes using wake scanner to follow elite NPCs departing from Formidine Rift base locations to determine their origin or destination.
No, was wondering if there were comms from these mysterious ships. Click to expand... No, there were no comm's from the ships - just circle around the base until they high wake out. I will take a wake scanner with me next time and follow them.
Elite NPCs with no faction affiliation orbit base perimeter then high-wake without communications. Behavior distinctly different from standard NPC patterns, suggesting deliberate surveillance or patrol activity.
Ah, my mistake. Assumed the npcs were SDF as that’s usually what I encounter on planets. So were they pirates? What did the comms log say? Click to expand... No pirates, no faction either. Going in circles around base and then high-wake. Very strange. If you want spoilers from base comms check this site: Spoiler https://trello.com/b/DCTJoy8T/cor-rift-hawkings-and-conflux-ucbs
Two elite NPCs encountered only at Gamma Formidine Rift site (not at other Rift locations). Comms logs reference 'a signal that was NOT human' and 'something out here that does NOT want to be found.' Investigator plans systematic exploration within 55 Ly jump range and USS scanning.

The Crystalline Forest mentioned in lore appears in the Elite Dangerous 2.2 launch video. Canonn researchers have identified these as Alien Tube Worms and are actively searching for them, suggesting a connection to undiscovered in-game phenomena.
The Crystalline Forest is from the 2.2 launch video. Here you go: https://youtu.be/iojsbuOzEuQ?t=32 Click to expand... Oh I've always wondered what the Crystalline Forest is. That's so strange - Canonn call them Alien Tube Worrms (http://www.sagittarius-eye.com/canonn-seeks-alien-tubeworms-on-mysterious-planet/) They're doing a search for them literally right now! I was expecting "crystalline forest" to be blue crystals (because obvs space crystals have to be blue )
Commander conducted investigations in Persephone system involving sacrificing grain and silver at ceremonial comms beacons as part of Formidine Rift research, suggesting possible connection between Rift exploration and ritualistic game mechanics.

Suggests Raxxla could be the origin of the Formidine Rift's 'here be ghosts' reputation and that 'the Club' sent the Zurara into the rift as part of a contingency plan. Dynasty expedition may have been searching for already-terraformed planets.
The Zurara: "All this weird stuff far out in the void? It’s some kind of contingency plan." The Rift mystery could have been so much more interesting if the Dynasty expedition were searching for planets that had been already terraformed. Panacea Medical Centre: "They hatched a secret contingency plan – a comprehensive list of earth-like worlds and terraformable planets." Searching for an Exodus, that had already happened. GCS Sarasvati: "Unit 01, if you’re receiving this, then I’ve got good news and bad news. The good news is the contingency worked. The bad news is the contingency was necessary." Also they were followed by Thargoids.
Salomé is identified as the only narrative link between Raxxla and the Formidine Rift mysteries.
Funny how much players still are looking for a link between Raxxla and the Rift. I would love if it turned out to be part of the solution. But, imho, due to 'executive' reasons, it's not. I understand that the Rift was DW's job and Raxxla was MB's. But, again, I would love to be proven wrong. Click to expand... The only link there is is Salomé.
Theory that Formidine Rift was developed by Drew Wagar and Raxxla by Michael Brooks separately, suggesting they are likely not connected despite player attempts to link them.

Star cluster visible during witchspace animation appears to match formations seen in Formidine Rift region, suggesting possible location clue or visual thematic connection.
A few days ago I thought there was something irregular in the witch space jump, like second star hovering next to destination star, but it is entirely plausible I was just a bit tired. Raxxla being in a fixed location only determinable by seeing something in witch space jump is interesting idea though. Click to expand... In this same line, I have always been interested by the star cluster, always the same, we can see passing again and again... It reminds me one I've seen in the Rift region.
Bovomit Sector (~-20000,0,-7000) may contain the Guardian AI and could be related to Raxxla's location. The permit cluster (Orion-Col70-Cone) added in 2.1 suggests coordinated world-building around this region.
I would like to think that we would find some alien structure that instantly allows us access to anywhere in the galaxy e.g. Beagles point, but I think all we may find is a rock called Raxxla. Click to expand... Oh I think there will be something there, possibly the permit to open up Bovomit Sector which is, I suspect, where FD have put the Guardian AI. I suspect Bovomit was originally going to be the Thargoid area of space but FD seem to have had a redesign sometime around Jaque’s misjump and they moved the goids in the Col70 direction. edit: actually, if that hypothesis is true then it might make sense for Raxxla to lie out in that direction after all; I do think Raxxla will turn out to be the Guardian homeworld....
Original Formidine Rift lore sources placed it close to Riedquat/Reorte region before retconning. This proximity fits with early Formidine Rift mystery setup and Bovomit's permit-locked status.
Oolite: “Thargoid incursions into the Formidine rift appear to be increasing dramatically.” But, of course, at that time it wasn't any Bovomit nor ED, if I am not incorrect. Click to expand... Well that would explain some of the tinfoiling. Shame it's not official lore. Click to expand... Scytale beat me to it. That used to be lore, until it was retconned- I wonder why? Of course the FRift from those early sources was quite close (if I remember) to Riedquat/Reorte...... So, no real source for my hypothesis other than it fits neatly with the way the FRift mystery was set up. And Bovomit is still locked......
Original Formidine Rift storyline involving Thargoid sightings in Bovomit was changed and moved to Col70 region, possibly related to Dark Wheel Dynasty theory. This storyline change may have resulted in Jacques' misjump to Colonia. Bovomit remains permit-locked.
I’ve tended to discount superfast DB as pre-engineers release hype. The FRift weird lights, suicides and something scary I think was related to an original storyline where the goids were sited in Bovomit, but I think for some reason (unknown) FD changed the storyline & moved them to Col70 region, forgetting that the Cone Sector etc had already had some explorer visits prior to locking them. Might be related to DW’s Dynasty theory being too close to home? I suspect this storyline change resulted in Jaques’ misjump ending up in Colonia...for some reason Halsey’s “angels” is suspicious and may be related to Raxxla, Thargoids, Guardians, blue fireflies or something yet to be found. As usual there seems to be no opportunity (i.e. insufficient narrative!) to explore this to gain further eviden...
Drew Wagar received explicit restrictions from Frontier: no Thargoids and no Raxxla content in novels. This separation suggests Raxxla quest is independent from Formidine Rift, Club, and Palin storylines.
DW clearly told (link somewhere in the previous pages, too lazy to search...) that when he asked FD about the story lines for his writings, he was answered like " No Thargs, no Raxxla ". (Among other things). Reserved to FD. Which makes me think we must consider Raxxla Quest as being independant of anything related to the Rift, the Club, Palin, etc.... I find quite interesting that TDW faction didn't appear anywhere in all the events, GalMap, tip missions, etc...since E/F missions disappeared... Just like it had disappeared from the game too, leaving just an empty name. I must buy that Jurassic-thing game and look for a Raxxlasaurus on a Darkwheel island... Click to expand... I agree that the Reclamation version of the Rift had nothing to do with Thargoids or Raxxla. However, the Pr...
Two permit-locked systems exist on the far rim beyond the Formidine Rift. Rebecca's cryptic statement ('serious sh:t out there, stuff you wouldn't believe') suggests unexplored significance in the region despite Salomé storyline conclusion.
The Rift story line insofar is it was packaged as a set of clues leading to the remnants of the Dynasty Expedition ended with the death of Salomé but that's not a very satisfactory conclusion to the wider mystery of the region. As Rebecca put it (perhaps channeling Roy Batty), "Let's just say there was some serious sh:t out there, stuff you wouldn't believe." There are two permit locks way out on the rim on the other side of the Rift for a start. Edit: I don't think there is currently, pre 3.3, anything more to find there but I would be surprised if the region isn't revisited.
Drew Wagar's Formidine Rift storyline included non-existent beacons and terraforming kits; Thargoids were originally supposed to emerge from Bovomit area before Frontier moved them to Col 70. Suggests abandoned Rift storyline may contain unexplored Raxxla clues.
I agree that there was a lot more mileage (pun intended!) in the FRift storyline, with the non-existent beacons and terraforming kit that the FRift ships were supposed to be dropping, but it looks like this was just DW’s baby and FD lost interest, leaving a load of very frustrated FRifters (we should form a squadron!), me included. I think the goids were originally due to come out of Bovomit; there are clear hints in the FRift site messages that ‘something evil’ was supposed to haunt that area of space, but then FD seem to have moved the goids out to Col70 area for some reason (around the time of Jaques’ misjump to Colonia, though I don’t think there is a direct linkage between these events). It might be that FD will resurrect the FRift/Bovomit arc at some stage (I suspect at least two mor...
Formidine Rift expedition logs reference missing deployed beacons and a 'lurking evil' (possibly Guardian/Rogue AI from Bovomit sector). Additional megaships may exist in Conflux and Gap regions with possible undiscovered bases.
... or one might think they are still running valid as they are related to "something" not yet discovered ? Still mysteries standing in the Rift ? Click to expand... Well, we know there are missing “beacons” that the expedition was supposedly deploying, the “lurking evil” (Guardian/Rogue human AI? from Bovomit sector?) mentioned in the message logs, and I think possibly another megaship or two for Conflux & Gap, maybe some more bases? but without some new clues I don’t want to go back that direction, I’m having too much fun questing........
Clues provided during Formidine Rift mystery may remain valid and relate to something not yet discovered, with mysteries still standing in the Rift region.

Raxxla positioned near Formidine Rift as Guardian-built portal to escape Thargoids. Sirius Corp colonization effort toward Sothis/Ceos represents evacuation 'road' for humanity facing extinction similar to Guardians.
I rescue my message from Reddit with my theory about the location of Raxxla: ...... I have the theory that Raxxla is placed near the Formidine Rift. The ship that was exploring that place that was found some years ago would be investigating something related to it. Bovomit area is forbidden, and it's placed in that direction. Another interesting point is that Sirius Corp started colonizing a line of systems in that direction, but abandoned that work (Sothis and Ceos). It's being said for long that Thargoids were coming, and my theory is that Sirius started building a "road" to evacuate humanity towards Raxxla. Humanity is in severe risk of being wiped out, like happened with the Guardians. And what would Raxxla be? A Portal to another galaxy built by Guardians to escape from Thargoids...
Historical evidence suggests Raxxla is almost certainly inside the Bubble rather than the Formidine Rift, as it was accessible in original beta with limited jump ranges. However, pursuing the NGC 7822 clue chain produced substantive signs of being on the right track with discoveries like the Cupid's Arrow tourist beacon.
Here's where you lost me. i know people badly want their efforts in the FRift to not have been in vain, but Raxxla is almost certainly inside the bubble. I was sure it was in the FRift for the longest time, but what we know for sure is that it was accessible in the original beta, and that rules out FRift categorically. Click to expand... While I totally agree that historically Raxxla being in the bubble makes the most sense, I for one am not concerned with where this riddle is leading me to, or What it's leading me to. I am just following what I see as being the sign posts along the way. We have not yet seen anyone, except for this Alpha Cygni development (which seems super interesting), produce any signs of being on the right track. For us, being in the NGC 7822 nebula specifically bei...
Planet in Zurara system (Formidine Rift) has been scanned and mapped but is non-landable. Contains human signal detection, suggesting listening post or orbital structure.
It's probably been commented here or there, but I'm in the planet of the Zuara, in the Formidine. The planet had been scanned and mapped, although you can't land there right now. There's a human signal. I wish I could go there...! https://i.Please use another image host/yDScJF6.jpg
Investigation of Rho Cassiopeia in the Formidine Rift revealed no evidence suggesting connection to the Raxxla riddle despite the isolated location.
I spent a couple days trekking out to Rho Cassiopeia, way out in the Formidine Rift. I didn't find anything to suggest that this system is involved in the riddle. Not super surprised, given how far it is from, well, anything, but it was a nice trip. Heading back to the Bubble now.
Explorer planning systematic void exploration following Riedquat-Reorte axis from Formidine Rift region, having allied with Dark Wheel. Seeking undocumented signals or phenomena along this directional path as potential Raxxla location method.
Is the "To the whisperer in witch-space, the siren of the deepest void!" part of the Raxxla codex entry something that was known beforehand? Because it sounds new to me and... it also sounds an awful lot like what is described in the messages left on Formidine Rift alpha site: - "Could have sworn i heard some weird voices in the last jump" (message 2/6). - "A siren song" (message 5/6). Has it already been investigated/dismissed? I'm currently heading straight to the Zurara from FR delta site, after which i plan to go as far as i can into the void, following the Riedquat-Reorte axis Should i look for something in particular while in the region? Children of Raxxla staging point established during Formidine Rift surveys when threat was anticipated. Possibly acting on Drew Wagar information, but FDev redirected focus to Thargoid content, potentially abandoning related story elements.
It's the Children if Raxxla staging point. I've taken the mission myself ages ago. It's just to one of the systems that the player faction set themselves as a gathering point during one of the Formadine Rift surveys. This was back when we thought there was going to be a threat coming from the the rift. I think they might have been acting on information from Drew Wagar at the time, but I think plans for any further story points were scrapped by FD in favour of concentrating on Thargoid content. Click to expand... This, and the lack of further elaboration on the hyperdiction/EMP/lurking evil & heat sources theme of the Dynasty logs was what made me think that the Goids were originally supposed to come from Bovomit but for reasons unknown FD moved them to Col 70 area. edit: LP/UCB summar...

Also, one of strange things that i stumbled upon, it's most likely not connected to the Raxxla search, but why not: On the wiki and Cannon website there is listed only one comms beacon for Formidine site Beta in Eafots LZ-H b10-0 However arriving there i found 2 of those. Quick google didn't get me a definitive answer, so was it already discussed and discovered earlier, or is that one beacon a new thing, as it's not listed in the original Formidine rift project? Click to expand... Listened for both, message is the same, one is broadcasting every hour at the start of an hour, second is broadcasting at 15 minutes past sart of an hour. Nothing to see there.
Theory that Raxxla exists within the bubble but the key or map to accessing it is hidden in the Formidine Rift, requiring exploration with enhanced FSD booster technology.
I like this theory because it ties in well to the idea that Universal Cartographics / Pilots Fed are in on the secret. But I'm reminded of the reddit thread about pulsars, I think. I can't find the thread, but long story short, if you go to the galaxy map and type "PSR" into the search bar and hit enter, you're taken to a point at the bottom of the galactic disk (maybe the origin of the grid system? I don't remember). The difference here is that this is an actual visible system that can't be selected, which I've never seen before. I'm currently grinding for Guardian technology mats for the enhanced FSD booster; once that's done I'm going to head back out to the Formidine Rift. I'm of the opinion that Raxxla might be in the bubble, but the key/map to it might be hidden somewhere out there....
FTL accomplished in 22nd century, first Raxxla mention in 2296, Tau Ceti colonized in 2100s. Raxxla likely discovered via megaship or early FTL expeditions and situated within known space bubble. Generation ship routes can narrow location parameters.
From the Codex, FTL was accomplished in the 22nd Century. The first recorded mention of Raxxla was in 2296 and is assumed the myth was already in circulation. That would mean Raxxla was discovered between 2100(?)-2296. The Empire was starting to take shape in Achenar in the 2250's. Tau Ceti was colonised in the 2100's via FTL. The Dark Wheel has been around since the early days of interstellar travel. It would be safe to assume that either Raxxla was discovered via megaship or discovered via early FTL expeditions post Tau Ceti. So, Raxxla is in the bubble and was likely discovered pre-Achenar. Now we know when Raxxla was likely found and a rough area of where it is. To narrow it down, I'd use the known non-FTL generation ships as an initial largest radius and then calculate where th...
Generation ships were launched pre-FTL between 2020-2100, creating a travel timeframe of 80-376 years assuming a 2296 endpoint. This establishes a 'when' and 'where' for initial Raxxla discovery, but the 'how' remains unknown.
Not a bad theory there, though the Empire also uses familial descent, as did Walden (you could say his clones were his descendants) so I’m not fully convinced by your last paragraph. Click to expand... It's less to do with the leader selection and more to do with how new members are selected. But yeah, I agree. I'm just trying to find a way to test and rule out possible theories on the method used to find Raxxla (or something leading to it) the first time. I edited the post to seperate the tinfoil from the observations. We have a when. We have a possible where. We just lack the 'how' of it. Generation ships were launched pre-FTL. So we have a timeframe of 2020 to 2100 for initial launches, leaving us with anywhere from 80 to 376 years of travel assuming we use 2296 as an end point. ...
Extensive search of Conflux area identified multiple earthlike worlds but no unknown beacons or megaships found despite hypothesis of one beacon per expedition.

Formidine Rift expedition bases loosely aligned along R-R line, but Zurara megaship offset significantly. Conflux bases follow different alignment pattern. Suggests intentional geometric placement or navigation clues.
Calling old FRifters! Got to post here since the FRift thread was locked. I’m on DW2 and just heading to the Conflux abandoned bases. Didn’t get out here before during the FRift quest, but thought I’d have a scout around and see if I can uncover anything, especially since I think DW hinted that there was more to find related to the Dynasty plot and we now have the fss and planet probes. Suspicion that multiple megaships may exist associated with major expeditions (one per expedition model), warranting investigation at Conflux bases.

Formidine Rift bases are loosely aligned along an R-R line, while Zurara is offset further out. Conflux bases appear to align along a separate line. These alignments may point toward undiscovered megaships or locations.

An old Galnet news item from 08 APR 3303 regarding a weak signal from Col 70 Sector pertaining to a rally point links together Col 70 Sector, Formidine Rift mystery, and Thargoid activity. The message suggests covert and coded communications were transmitted.
Still wondering what’s Guru doing. He still hasn’t posted any proof or apology, do you think he’s trolling (or trolled) us?
Raxxla may be a mobile generation ship or exploration base with advanced jump drive technology requiring weeks between jumps. The Gnosis precedent (one-week travel times) suggests older ships with pre-public jump technology could follow similar patterns, making discovery a matter of calculating jump destinations.
If any DW station exist in Tejat Posterior, it may be hidden in WSS. Minimal emissions - weak signal. But commonly there are many WSSs in the Bubble systems. We should looking for something stable in it placement.
Dark Wheel hinted additional Formidine Rift mysteries beyond Zurara. Logical pattern suggests derelict megaships in Formidine Rift, Conflux, and Gap. Dynasty/Club storyline separate from Raxxla; Dark Wheel stated no knowledge of Raxxla.
DW has hinted there’s more to be found related to the FRift mystery. Whether this means there’s something in the FRift, Conflux or Gap I don’t know, but since Zurara was found in the FRift it would be logical to have two more derelict megaships in Conflux & Gap. Something had to be located to be found in the FRift, and that had to be poi (Zurara and the bases) due to the game mechanics, but it’s clear that DW’s real mystery was the Dynasty plot and the existence of The Club; finding those poi led to the disclosure of the latter. DW said he knew nothing about Raxxla so confusing the two storylines is probably counter-productive, there is no link between them. Scavengers have been cleaning up corrosion since those thargoid sites were introduced in-game. Surprised it’s not all shiny by now. ...
Zurara may be a halfway point similar to Conflux sites for Colonia. A coordinate line extended from Reorte to Riedquat through Zurara and beyond was explored at galaxy rim (100 LY star spacing), but requires re-exploration with current interface.
A lot of people have searched the Formidine Rift and the stars around the Zurara, although we didn't have the current exploration interface at that time, so who knows. And back on page 320 or so, I posted that I had a theory last year that Zurara was just the half-way point, sort of like the Conflux sites for Colonia, and actually extended a coordinates line from Reorte to Riedquat to Zurara and beyond, and went exploring that edge of the galaxy. I looked around the stars at the rim in that direction, they get to 100 LY apart, but I didn't find anything. There are a lot of stars, and you can jump over significant numbers of them when you're flying 60 LY jumps in fast mode, so it's still needle in a haystack. But, I might go back there to try again with the current exploration interface. ...
Beacon near Tionisla with partially decrypted message about woman riding giraffe directs player attention to EAFOTS sector and Formidine Rift. References appeared in Galnet.
And early I mentioned another thing near tionisla or something. It was the beacon about the partially decripted message and the thing about a women riding a giraffe. Has anyone fit that into the sonnets or found anything that could be referencing? Click to expand... That is entirely related to The Formidine Rift and was used to direct player's attention to the EAFOTS sector. It was in Galnet.
Frontier Development may release content (megaships, generation ships) contingent on players solving in-game puzzles and discoveries. The Formidine Rift revelation preceded megaship releases, suggesting a pattern where content unlocks through player-driven investigation.
I was watching that video and then watched this video: Did it dawn on anyone we are potentially in such a situation where an exodus could become needed. Another idea. Is FD releasing content solely on when and how we discover stuff in game or is it just based on other criteria?! People figured out formadine and then eventually get get megaships released and now bigger similar ships. Maybe we have to figure out puzzles to get other content or something odd. Did anything happen that might make the guardian or thargoids make sense from a player driven perspective. I'm assuming that might just be them appearing as the games main antagonist. Although it could be either or both. It mentions them needing waypoint and a conspiracy. What if all the mega ships and other gen ships are the same thi...
