Exotic stellar objects (X-class stars, quark stars, pulsars) may be intentionally hidden from Full Spectrum Scanner detection, requiring alternative discovery methods. Historical astronomical references like Geminga ('it's not there') and 3C 58 as potential exotic candidates suggest developers may be hiding Raxxla within undetectable stellar phenomena at extreme distances.

Hypothesis that exotic (X-class) stars may not be displayed by the Full Spectrum Scanner and could remain undetectable even if massive, particularly if located at Oort Cloud distances.
.. do we have any reason to beleive that FSS doesn't show all bodies in a system? Click to expand... Perhaps (just perhaps) except the X (=exotic) class ones ? Afaik, nobody found one of these... I know, they may or may not be actually ingame.
3C 58 identified as a possible quark star candidate (~10,000 light-years away), though system is not confirmed navigable in-game under any known name. Represents exotic star class exploration angle.
how about looking here in our favourite constellation? Only current (2019) candidate for an exotic star.. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/3C_58 only a short 10k ly trip edit: as is so often the way, system not in game (at least not navigable to under any of it names) . Also checked out any other mentioned candidate quark stars - either far too far away or not in game either.. <sigh> YB
