Raxxla may exist in a system without a visible sun (containing a black hole or neutron star) and requires navigation via bright stellar beacons like Polaris. The 'dark' system concept aligns with The Dark Wheel lore reference to 8 connections with one destroyed.

Theory that brightest visible stars (like Polaris in FFE lore) may serve as stellar beacons for long-range navigation to Raxxla. Suggests checking known brightest star catalog for Elite Dangerous designations.
Oh, sorry for the misunderstanding, I've only got conjecture on my own part, you are following the leads as you see them You can find the mentioned location in the GalMap;open it and find the coordinates, it'll be a box with potentially more than one system, and if you are lucky;just one. Click to expand... How can i tell which grid is which? Can you give me an idea how to use your method? I am not that firm in astrology, yet i have some serious fun joini9ng up this treasure hunt. Found some "rare" bodies: Class M Dwarf-Star with Ring If i remember correctly the FFE plot spun around Polaris, including the "Turner Class" ship. Polaris is one of the brightest stars visible from earth. Have the other objects in the "brightest star list" been checked out? I think you need a very b...
Theorizes 'dark' may refer to a system without a sun, possibly containing a black hole or neutron star. Cites excerpt from The Dark Wheel mentioning 8 connections to Raxxla with one destroyed, system vanished/traveled, but 'the moon is still there.' References Sleipnir mythology (8-legged horse, 8 dimensions).
Hee hee, was just about to ask the same question. I'm just thinking off the top of my head here, but there may be similarities to the problem of finding Raxxla, and the purpose of the UA. Not saying they are connected in any way, but one of the theories around the UA is that it might be some sort of scanner that could find a "dark system" or "dark planet", i.e. one that does not appear on the Galaxy Map. If Raxxla is a "dark system", or a "dark world" in a known system, there might be a need for a similar type of scanner (perhaps envisaged with future content, i.e planetary landings and the like) to be able to locate it. Alternatively, and perhaps more likely, it may simply be on the map under a completely different name. Just a random thought, FWIW. Click to expand... To be frank...
Analyzes Dark Wheel passage describing 8 connections to/from Raxxla with one destroyed, causing Raxxla to vanish or travel, but 'the moon is still there.' Connects to Sleipnir mythology suggesting dimensional or positional significance of the number 8.

Expands definition of 'dark system' to include brown dwarf stars or systems with no life and no stations as broader interpretations beyond those without primary stars.
To be frank, "Dark" might also mean or referr to "has no sun". And a system without a sun is dark, but might harbor a black hole or neutron star.... Biggest reactor in the game, enjoying some riddling and a good conversation here Click to expand... Yup, I think at least one of the new lore books uses it this way, forget which. Brown dwarf might qualify also. Or a system with no life and no stations might be another, broader interpretation.
Proposes Raxxla location may be indicated by 'bright spots' visible on unfiltered galaxy map, or in difficult-access zones out of galactic plane with sparse systems.
Hello Commanders, I'm sharing this with you in the case you missed it: http://www.drewwagar.com/progress-report/raxxla-the-definitive-guide/ From the wording chosen by Drew I'd bet that he doesn't know the location, only DB. Then I have an idea, if you remove all filters from the map, you can see some "bright spots": maybe one of those "bright spots" include a very special system? On the other hand, it could be in a zone with a very difficult access, such as out of the plane of the galaxy, with sparse systems. Which one would be the most probable choice by FD, knowing that "there will be no clues"?
Theory that Raxxla could be located in a zone with difficult access, potentially out of the galactic plane with sparse systems, as a design choice that would explain lack of clues.

It wasn't missed I've been wondering about the Raxxla location statement; I find it very curious, if the Great Galactic Father wouldn't know,...
