Published investigative piece on Raxxla with contributions from CMDR MarcusTheBlack and CMDR DrNoesis from the investigation thread.
I did a little piece on Raxxla for our latest issue: http://www.sagittariuseyes.com/issue-3.html Big thanks to CMDR MarcusTheBlack and CMDR DrNoesis from this thread for contributing and others on this thread for general ideas. Click to expand... Great effort, repped! Can I just ask though, is the stuff from Cmdr Faulcon about the crashed ship and records actually real, or just poetic licence? I don't recall those details from earlier in this thread...
An informant reports scavenging 13 Trinkets of Hidden Fortune from a Type-7 transport in Colonia with 99% credibility.
If someone interested : one informant reports 13 Trinkets of Hidden Fortune scavenged from a T7 in Colonia. Credibility: 99%. Dumb question from a Commander just starting out. I'm sure this has been discussed previously somewhere, but FD has said Raxxla is in the game and can be found, but that doesn't seem to suggest "can be found, right now." Is it possible that Raxxla is currently permit locked? Click to expand... Yes. Nothing would surprise me coming from the FDevs.
Strange Elite ships observed at EAFOTS RA-G B11-0 3 (Gamma site) climb to 150km altitude, perform 180-degree turns pointing back at Gamma site, then emit unidentified sounds. Suggests location has significance and audio component may be part of discovery puzzle.
I went back to EAFOTS RA-G B11-0 3 to follow the strange Elite ships with a wake scanner to see if they would lead me to Raxxla. And this is where things got really strange, all the ships would climb to approx 150km, do a 180 degree turn and stop pointing directly back to the Gamma site. . Then start emitting a strange sound. I tried analysing it with audacity but could not get anywhere. If anyone knows how to upload video / .mp3 to this forum or a site I can easily link them from I will do so.
Veteran Elite player confirmed extensive search of all 8 original galaxies and most accessible systems found no Raxxla. Rumored 9th galaxy with Raxxla in bottom left corner was never successfully located or accessed, suggesting Raxxla is unique to Elite Dangerous.
Hey all, Sssooo, odd question really, but here goes - was Raxxla actually in the original Elite, or any Elite title since? I.e. is there any proof of someone finding it? Screenshots etc? Even anecdotal evidence (which is all we ever get anyways) would be great!? O7 CMDRS. EDIT: Spelling Click to expand... The original Elite game had 8 galaxy's each with 256 systems in. I visited every galaxy and most systems (some were impossible to get to - not enough jump range) partly because I wanted to have explored everything and partly to find Raxxla. It wasn't there as far as I could tell. There was rumored to be a 9th galaxy where Raxxla was in the bottom left hand corner of the map - But I never found a ninth galaxy. I also searched for Raxxla in Frontier / Frontier First encounters but ...
Player achieved Triple Elite status plus Rear Admiral and Duke ranks while allied with Dark Wheel but received no special messages or game changes. Plans to achieve Admiral, King ranks and CQC Elite during DWE2 expedition end of 2018/early 2019.
My thoughts where that you would need only 'Combat Elite' - that was the original lore and the only 'Elite' status back in the Day. But this didn't work for me so I've become triple elite and allied to the DW still no special messages, I am also ranked rear admiral and duke. I will now work on achieving 'Admiral' and 'King' (I hate that rank, it should be Senator). I will become CQC Elite whilst I take part in DWE2, so that I can do a little 'pew pew' whilst looking for Raxxla on a major expedition. But that wont be until the end of this year possibly 1Q 2019.
Frontier posted letter from Universal Cartographics on Twitter stating they had no knowledge of the PLANET Raxxla. Notable that statement specifically referenced 'planet' designation.
...uncovered information about a certain celestial body ..... The Myth. That's not "lore". That's IN the game. Or was .. Click to expand... Didn't FD post a letter on Twitter from Universal Universal Cartographics, stating that they had no knowledge of the PLANET Raxxla?
Letter from Universal Cartographics posted to Twitter or Facebook regarding Raxxla. Post author unable to relocate source but recalls the official communication.
Who said planet ? Twitter ? Click to expand... The letter from 'Universal Cartographics' posted on Twitter. Could have been Face Book as well. I only followed a forum link and I can't find it now.
No character confirmed within Elite lore—including Rafe, Alex, Dark Wheel members, or known explorers—has actually visited or found Raxxla, only mythologized its existence.
Be aware : in Elite: Dangerous "...a certain celestial body. The Myth. Why didn't say simply "a certain planet. The Myth" ? Because it may not be. I wouldn't focus on the Rafe Zetter's planet... It's passed out lore. I stick to the game. Click to expand... Thats what I was trying to say. Rafe has never been to Raxxla. Alex hasn't been, The Dark Wheel hasn't been, no one in lore we know of knows where Raxxla is. The only people I can think of that might know, are the members of the club, but we might as well assume that Chuck Norris knows, it wouldn't give us any further information. The celestial bodies thang, well, the following things are considered as celestial bodies: - gas: stars, star hulls, gas giants, gas nebulae, interstellar matter, molecule clouds, halos - solid: plan...
Systems containing 'RA XX-L A' naming pattern (DRYU BRA XX-L A7-0, PHOOE BRA XX-L A76-0, HYPAE BRA XX-L A7-0, OOSCS BRA XX-L A7-0) were checked via brute force sector list analysis with no discoveries. Searcher acknowledges incomplete coverage due to manual search limitations.
I do quite like the hypothesis that Raxxla is in one of the aforementioned systems: DRYU BRA XX-L A7-0 PHOOE BRA XX-L A76-0 HYPAE BRA XX-L A7-0 OOSCS BRA XX-L A7-0 any of these in the “outer rim”? Click to expand... Raxxla is not in any of those systems. I found them by brute forcing the sector list: https://cim.sotl.org.uk/elite-dangerous/ rOmiLaYu was relatively close by and checked them all. Nothing special in any of them. They are all far away, but not what I would call 'on the outer rim of the galaxy'. As far as I know, there are no tools that allows searching for systems that contains 'RA XX-L A'. It has to be done semi manually. That means that I have probably missed a few.
Researcher brute-forced sector lists to search for systems matching 'RA XX-L A' naming pattern. Found rOmiLaYu nearby and checked systems, but found nothing special. Notes that no in-game tools support wildcard searching for this pattern.

Does the search tool in game allow the use of * or other characters to represent random no descript characters. I'm on linux. I can't play and don't know atm. I just found this interesting. 8) Or, heck, any of the online tools?! That might be a bypass. Were those planets atmospheric? It was thinking...
Neil Gratton confirmed the 8th planet discovery was an April Fools hoax created by blending two legitimate system screenshots with digital editing, admitting to intentional distortion to avoid appearing too perfect.
Neil Gratton has updated his Facebook post thusly: APRIL FOOL! My apologies to anyone who took this far too seriously, but as many suspected this was a partial photo edit by way of emergent content / practical joke / social experiment. Okay, I do see on EDSM that following my visit there were a Python and an Asp that have passed through that system (good effort to get there that quickly in a Python!). Direct message with proof it was you, and I'll buy you a paint job. Sorry guys Production notes: I started with two screenshots in the actual system itself - yes, I did travel there and spent a couple of hours there yesterday. One screenshot of space, and one of planet 7. I did actually initially produce a flawless image, but it felt too obvious. so I added distortion (some warping and ...
Technical analysis revealed a Photoshop 3 tag embedded in the image metadata, definitively proving the 8th planet claim was a fabricated hoax.
OlloBrains is already almost half-way there apparently. Click to expand... Yeah...I feel sorry for guys that give this even a second's credence. It's clearly a photo-chop...and heck, I was there. I saw it with my own Mk.1 eyeballs. Nothing there. Also, confirmed a fake. There is a photoshop 3 tag in the data if viewed in notepad. https://www.reddit.com/r/EliteDangerous/comments/8n7c92/raxxla_found/dzu70rq
Testing confirmed no reactions from Thargoid ships or starmap sites to Soontill Relics, though this may be oversight rather than definitive evidence against a connection.
Also a question for anyone: I'm curious if the Soontill Relics have any reaction with the Thargoid starmap inside one of the ground sites. Click to expand... https://forums.frontier.co.uk/showt...0-The-Canonn?p=5666925&viewfull=1#post5666925 No reactions from Thargoid ships to Soontill Relics either IIRC. Not much we can read into it though IMHO as it’s very possible from descriptions that the Thargoids wouldn’t recognise them, even if they were of Thargoid heritage. https://community.elitedangerous.com/en/galnet/18-MAY-3301 Always worth re-testing this stuff though, as it could always be an oversight.
Documentation of three distinct anomalies in Degraded Emissions Detected USSs: hostile ships with no communication, completely empty sites, and unidentified objects that explode during scoop collection with no description data.
Hi I have noticed that there have been for me; a few weird occurrences in USS's very recently (can't be more specific as to time-frame): On three occasions (separated by multiple hours play) I have entered the "Degraded Emissions Detected" USS (all in Open): 1. At least four ships were present, I arrived right in the middle of their globe, they opened fire immediately without comms. (The incident was too fast/violent to garner any concrete observations) 2. There was absolutely nothing in this USS. (well scouted.... even looked behind the sofa ) 3. There was only one object floating way off (I'm frequently on the salvage for materials) when targeted there was NO description of the object, I scooped it perfectly HOWEVER it exploded as it reached my scoop. Community scrutiny reveals no verifiable source for the claim that a commander has visited Raxxla's system; identified as unsubstantiated 'bloke down the pub' story rather than confirmed fact.
I think it is worth to start looking for Raxxla again for two reasons a) FD have said that one commander has been to the system Raxxla is, but has skipped it. b) they have hinted that they hope new tools will give players chance to find it more easily. Click to expand... As Mengy said on a) no one's ever been able to provide a verifiable source for it. It's basically a 'bloke down the pub reckons' story. By contrast, other things are verifiable. For b), was that from something in particular? Would be good to have a source.
Report of Witchhead nebula not being visible in recent exploration near Barnard and Rigel systems despite clear line of sight; persisted after relog and supercruise movement.
That gives me an idea. Pretend you are at raxxla. Where would you not be? Reverse the thinking... Click to expand... Rebuy Prospect... but I docked there last night, and I'm sure I didn't see Raxxla. Oh, and Jorki... while I haven't found your view yet, the last few systems I visited last night there was some serious dust. I'm not sure if it is just a bug, but the Witchhead nebula was not visible. Barnard and Rigel were, and I couldn't find anything on galmap that might obscure my view. Even relogged and went further in. supercruise.
Morse code sequence discovered in Canonn Research Group Discord of unknown origin and credibility. No confirmation of in-game source (beacon, base log, or ship log) yet established. Requires verification before serious analysis.
Was it from in-game (beacon, base/ship log) or an external source? Click to expand... That's as far as I know, I don't know their source or the credibility of this. I've been trying to scour the internet all over these forums and on reddit to see if anybody else is talking about this. So far nothing, so I would only take this with a grain of salt. Unless we can get some more solid verification on it.
Guru's screenshot contains game features not present at launch (Beacons, updated black hole lensing, Obsidian Orbital, FDL, Wings mechanic), contradicting claim that Raxxla has been findable since game launch. Questions whether FDev added clues post-launch.
IMO Guru's text is all very nice BUT No Beacons in the game at launch Different lensing effect at game launch for Black holes No Obsidion Orbital at game lunch. Etc, Etc . So none of these clues could have been used at game launch, and its been in the game according to Fdev since day one. and findable since day one He highlights the 'Wing of 4/4' in his pic, No wings at lunch No FDL at launch IF these have all been put in since to guide us, then Fdev has lied about not giving more clues ...... Just IMO o7 Edit, And Fdev do not do NDC they do NDA ;-)
